is our charming Wild Cat Cottage, located directly on this unique nature reserve. The former barn was built in 1819 using rubble stone and has been renovated by us using ecological materials. is what the High Fens are called sometimes. The moorland is located on a plateau at an altitude of 600-700 metres. The harsh climate, the acidic, wet soil and the vastness make it the perfect habitat for many unusual species of flora and fauna. Another typical feature are the dozens of small streams that splash their way down from the moorland.

Wild Cat is a cosy, detached holiday home, located in a former stable, where you can completely relax. Nature begins at your doorstep, with badgers, foxes, many birds and other animals foraging in your garden.

Directly from Wild Cat, you can take endless walks through moors and forests and along streams, or go on beautiful bike rides. You can see rare birds, butterflies and plants, and the Milky Way in the dark night sky.

On the edge of the High Fens, you will find Wild Cat Cottage, with everything you need for a great holiday in a “tiny house”.

A place where you are truly outdoors, even when you are sitting on the sofa watching the birds feeding in your garden.

Where you can walk endlessly, cycle without haste, and stand still and inhale deeply without so much as looking at your watch. Wild Cat is for those who want to experience the High Fens as they are: rugged, surprising and quiet. You don't have to be a nature expert to enjoy the Fens – a pair of walking shoes and an open mind are enough.

From your garden, you can hear “our” kingfisher, and with a bit of luck, you might even see it flash over the large pond.

You can enjoy the graceful red kites, fieldfares, and a multitude of smaller birds.

Or are there more than two of you? Our quietly located holiday home just across the border in Kalterherberg, between Monschau, the German Eifel and the High Fens (between Brackvenn and Waalse Veen), is an excellent alternative! Everything you need to know can be found at: vakantiehuisjemonschau.nl.

The house is located about 10 kilometres from Wild Cat and is also particularly suitable for two people. Because it has extra bedrooms, it can also accommodate up to six people. You have the house to yourself and there is a large private garden. A great place to spot red kites!

In spring, the Perlenbach Valley in Monschau-Kalterherberg is one of the most famous places to see wild daffodils. You can also go hiking and cycling there!

Wild Cat niet beschikbaar?

Of ben je met meer dan twee? Ons rustig gelegen vakantiehuis nét over de grens in Kalterherberg, tussen Monschau, de Duitse Eifel en de Hoge Venen (tussen het Brackvenn en het Waalse Veen) is dan een prima alternatief! Alle informatie vind je op: vakantiehuisjemonschau.nl.

Het huis ligt op zo'n 10 kilometer vanaf Wild Cat en is ook bijzonder geschikt voor 2 personen. Omdat het wat extra slaapkamers heeft, kan je er ook met maximaal 6 personen verblijven. Je hebt het huis voor jezelf en er is een grote privé tuin bij. Een geweldige plek om rode wouwen te spotten!

In het voorjaar is het Perlenbachtal in Monschau-Kalterherberg één van de bekendste plekken om wilde narcissen te zien. Verder kan je er net zo goed wandelen en fietsen als hier!

Trekt een vakantie in de Hoge Venen je aan, maar word je liever verzorgd, dan ben je van harte welkom in Bed and Breakfast La Petite Roer, gevestigd op hetzelfde adres. De website is te vinden op: petite-roer.be
